Halloween Dinner

I had the Whitney's over for a pre-Halloween dinner.  I'm leaving for California on Tuesday.  We enjoyed some bloody bones, zombie fingers, a bowl of brains, spiders nests, and a jack-o-lantern veggie tray.  With witches hats and and ghost juice.  We finished off with a wrapped mummy for dessert.  Yum!

Water Polo

Caleb is swimming hard with his water polo team.

Color Guard

It's that time of the year again for Color guard and competitions with the Ava's high school marching band.

Eclipse

Caleb was able to see the recent eclipse with their camera obscura.

Jordan

I got these pictures from Lexy for the Blog.  They are having some wonderful experiences and meeting lots of great people along the way.  Keep them in your prayers as things continue to evolve in the Middle East.

Dry Creek

The Utah Duncan's went on a hike to Dry Creek last weekend.  As you can see Utah does fall very nicely!

Grandma Update!

Not to brag, but I can forget

what I'm doing, while I'm doing it.

Tonsil Free!

Graham had his tonsils removed yesterday.  The surgery went well and I have to say he has been a trooper through the whole thing.  He will miss school this week and possibly next week.

Brakes

Grandad would be so proud!  The brakes went out on the Whitney's truck and since Lincoln wasn't there Amy tackled the daunting project with the help of Jane.  She did it!  I loved the shirt she was wearing while she was working.  I still remember when Katie came for a visit and our car brakes needed to be replaced.  Uncle Andy came over to fix them.  He came in and said "come on Katie, you are going to learn how to replace brakes with Ellis."  And she and Ellis did!

Aunt Rozanne

As many of you know your Grandpa's sister is living with Heidi.  I went for a visit yesterday and was able to take this picture of the two of them together.  Heidi is doing a wonderful job and Rozanne is being well cared for.

Owen

This morning Owen performed at the After Chapel Concert for the Concordia Seminary.  I was so grateful that I was able to hear the amazing job Owen did.  It brought back some sweet memories of when he came to visit Grandpa and I and we were able to listen to him practice while he was there.  Aunt Becky sent me a copy of the program and I wanted to share the  "About the Artist" that was printed on the program.  I included a picture Aunt Becky took and one I took from the TV while I was watching it live-streamed.  I noticed during the concert a photographer and I hope that I will be able to get some close ups of him actually performing.  He is truly a gifted trombonist.  Thank you Owen for your dedication to composing and performing such beautiful music.

About the Artist:  Owen Duncan is a fourth-year Master of Divinity student at Concordia Seminary.  He is a composer and trombonist who hails from Fargo, ND.  He received a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University, Irvine, California, where he majored in music and English.  There he studied music composition with Dr. Tom Mueller and had the opportunity to write and arrange music for the university's jazz band, wind orchestra, symphony orchestra, choir and various ensembles.  In 2020 he received the Richard Hillert Award in Student Composition from the Center for Church Music at Concordia University Chicago, River Forest, Illinois and the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians for his work I Am Still Seeking You.

Fall Job

Graham and Eden got a special job working for a neighbor down the street from them.  While they are on Fall Break they have been feeding their friend's family tortoise.

The Temple Greeter

On Saturday Caleb and Ava were able to go to the Fresno Temple to do proxy baptisms.  They enjoyed a special greeter at the gates of the temple.

Grandma Update

 Don't mess with old people--
