Abby has always been a hard worker and has taught swimming classes for a number of years. While at high school she was in a program to learn to be an MA--medical assistant. After much work she has now been hired as a MA at the Lehi Primary Children's Hospital ENT office. Way to go Abby!

California Halloween Dinner
Fresno East Stake Women's Relief Society Conference
The theme this year was "Finding Joy in the Journey." It was excellent! And even better I was able to attend three breakout classes with Ava. After the classes we all came together in the cultural hall where almost 200 women were gathered for a beautiful luncheon. It was so nice to see asisters talking, laughing, and enjoying themselves. I believe they left that program with a renewed commitment to find joy in their individual journeys.
Missionary Conference
I had a wonderful experience while in California. Actually the whole time I spent with our California Duncan's was wonderful! As part of Aunt Angela's assignment as Stake Relief Scoeity President she was asked to provide lunch for the missionaries assigned to serve in the California Fresno Mission. There were over 90 missionaries who came to their zone conference. As usual Aunt Angels outdid herself!
Something happened that was especially wonderful for me. A missionary who is serving from Gilbert was at the program. It was significant because the night before I left for California I had a dream. In it I ran out of Aunt Amy's house and called out to her friend Tracy Scown as she was getting in her car, "I'll get a picture of your daughter and send it to you!" On Thursday when the missionaries and their leaders came in for lunch I looked around to see if it was possible that she would be there. She is assigned as a Spanish speaking missionary and it was unlikely. I saw a sister missionary standing with other missionaries and I thought it might be her but I had only seen her a few times. After everyone was seated I walked over to the table where she was sitting and when I got close enough to read her badge it said Hermana Scown. I was so excited and I said, "Sister Scown?" She looked up and jumped up. I couldn't believe it--she remembered me. We hugged and talked a few minutes and of course, I got a picture and sent it to Aunt Amy to send it to Sadie's mom. I love tender mercies!

#17
We have another football player in the family. Peter is playing football at his high school. If he lived closer we would have a tailgate party for him!

Done!
After three performances, the curtain went down on Jane's play. She worked hard and did a great job in her dual part as first a newscaster and then a zombie!

Aunt Becky
Aunt Becky sent me pictures of her latest project. She got the chair for free and then was able to make it look like new again. When I saw the damage on the arm I wondered if someone like Grandpa sat there and scraped the chair down to the wood. Grandpa sat on our couch and literally rubbed a hole in the material with repeatedly scratching the cushion with his fingernail.

The California Duncans
This was from Uncle Andy about what is happening in Clovis. Ava and I made some cards using a linocut process and this photo is the cards we made. One of the act9vitoes I did with Cakeb was about the constitution so I made him a powdered wig to wear. I saw a slug when I was walking at lunch one day. Caleb and I went camping at a place called Redinger Lake which was created by damming the San Joaquin River. We explored near the lake a while and saw some cool birds. Nearby was a marker for the geographic center of California so we went and saw that. Finally we went to a trail and hiked to the San Joaquin River. Today was our ward party so we went to that. Ava made a poster for the Gooofy Golf event and she did some face painting. Ava went as Strawberry Shortcake and Caleb went as a SWAT officer.
