Arizona Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from Bill and Katie.  They started the day with a 10K run and now will enjoy Thanksgiving with their Allred family.

Spelling Bee

Today Eden along with other students at Highland Park particpated in the Spelling Bee.  There were almost 20 fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students.  In the end Eden stayed until there were only three spellers left.  I was really touched that she was as excited for her friend who ended up the winner, as she was for herself.    

Perry's Project!

Perry came across a vise that was completly rusted and unusable.  But that didn't last long.  He got busy and took it all apart cleaned off all of the rust and then repainted and reconstructed it.  I feel pretty silly after complaining about removing staples!

My Project

This week I started working on the bench that Amy got from my friend Grace.  It is a great storage bench but it was green and definitely didn't match the furniture in the house.  I loved doing it but I have to admit my age is showing.  By the time I finished I could hardly close my hand from digging out staples.  And even worse I could hardly walk.  I actually felt like I was an old woman!  So I am going to retire from reupholstering and become a teacher to anyone who wants to learn.

Recognition of Service

I was able to attend a Veteran's Day celebration at Graham and Eden's school yesterday.  It was a really wonderful program.  Eden was in an all girls choir and they sang a special song for it.  I took a video but apparently I did something wrong so you won't get to hear their song!

Great job Will!  Katie sent me these pictures from a dance performance that Will was in on Friday night.  She said he did an amazing job!  Thanks for the pictures Katie and thanks for always being there to cheer your siblings on.  You are the best!

 Sadly BYU was out-played today but Eden, Graham, and Duncan accomplished a lot!

The Loudest Concert on Campus

Last week I was able to listen to and see the BYU Marching Band and Colorguard perform.  I wish I could say I saw Ava but I didn't.  But she was there!  And I am sure she did an excellent job.  I have to say that I really enjoyed the music they played because I knew the songs and I was able to sing along!

Did You Know?

Abby and Meg moved into a new apartment recently.  Abby is working and also going to school at UVU.  Of course she has one of the best roommates you could ask for!  I went while in Utah, to see their new apartment and saw something I had no idea that Abby did.  She sent me these pictures of the creations she made so far.  They aren't from Lego kits because she said they are to pricy, so she gets her kits from "mini bricks" and as you can tell she has an amazing ability to recreate something spectacular!
