Lunch

I had lunch with my handsome grandson on Monday.  We met in Payson and enjoyed a wonderful meal and lots of great conversation.  Owen is in Navajo, Arizona working with the Lutheran ministry there which he had done two summers before.  He seems to enjoy himself and will be giving the sermon while the minister is on vacation.  I don't doubt that he will do an excellent job!

Weather

You may think that Arizona is pretty boring on the weather front but I wanted to share these pictures so you can see what real weather looks like when it comes to Arizona.  On Friday night we had our haboob storm rear its ugly head.  (look up haboob if you think I made that up!)  It usually happens in places like Sudan but Arizona occasionally gets a surprise storm full of fury and dirt.  This particular storm brought in some violent wind that took it's toll on trees throughout our area.  As if that wasn't enough on Saturday night we had the wind, rain, and a thunder and lightning storm like nothing I had seen before.  It was amazing!  It came down hard and heavy for a solid 40 minutes and then the rain stopped but the thunder and lightening continued for another half an hour.  During the rain I sat on the bench by my front door and enjoyed the spectacle.  Often the rain was blowing sideways.  I have to admit that as the rain was coming down I took a few minutes to express my gratitude to Heavenly Father for sending us the much needed moisture.

Utah Update!

The carpet is in and I think, that pretty much completes the contractor projects in the basement.  Aunt Cathy is working on updating the bathroom down stairs but isn't waiting for contractors to do that.  It won't be long before the furniture is back in place and everyone can enjoy some great family time in their new area.

The Fun Begins!

I asked Aunt Cathy what she was working on and she sent me these two pictures.  I smiled when I saw the
job ahead for her.  As tedious as unpacking and organizing our clutter is, it is such a wonderful feeling when it is done and you know exactly where everything goes.  She did such an amazing job of designing a user friendly kitchen that I suspect she probably has a few empty cupboards to spare.  You all know you need to have extra room for those gadgets that you just know you will use over and over and never do!

Lego's

Aunt Cathy send me two pictures of her current project of putting her kitchen back together .  I was inspired to tackle a job of organization as well when my company left.  It took me many hours to sort out all of the Legos but it is so nice to have everything color coordinated and in containers so when the grandkids come they can recreate some of their previous Lego projects without having to look through a mountain of mixed up Legos!  I might add that Duncan was very impressed with my efforts.

Company!

I enjoyed a week of great visiting with Sonia Palmquist when she brought Daniel out for several doctor's appointments.  Sonia is someone if anyone hears her story will love and admire all she has accomplished in her life.  We did a lot of restaurant hopping which is always something I enjoy.  The week went by so fast and I was sad to see her, Daniel and Isaac leave.  Sonia ordered this bouquet of flowers for me with a kitten and puppy made out of carnations as well!  I look forward to another visit at the end of August when Daniel has to come back for his follow-up appointment.
