Game Day
I was so excited to have the Whitney's over for the first BYU game. Sadly, it was a very painful game to watch as BYU got stomped! In spite of that disappointment I put on a great spread in preparation for game day. I have to say that Uncle Christian amazed me with his self control during numerous ridiculous plays by BYU. He's come a long way in controlling his enthusiasm and dismay which in the past was pretty intense!

Getting Close!
Aunt Amy took Lincoln's pictures at the temple yesterday. He is almost ready to submit his mission paperwork. He definitely has the missionary look!

My Newest
Pink Puppy Quilt |
I decided to put my quilts on as I finish them instead of waiting until I have all 12 done. I have to admit that this was one of the first quilts I made that I was completely happy with how it turned out. I am hypercritical of myself and have a hard time looking at a color choice I made or the way it turned out instead of how I wanted it to turn out and being a little disappointed. But this one was perfect for me!

Thinking of You!
Nineteen years ago I walked to my dad's bedside in the hospital. As I walked up he asked, "Is it time to go Mama?" Little did I realize that within a few minutes he would have a massive heart attack and would be gone. Now with his mother that he grieved the loss of for so many years. Four years later a beautiful baby girl would join our family on that day. Eleven years later another grandson would also be born on August 24th. I have always believed that those births were the tender mercies that often comes to us when we need to be reminded that someone is thinking of us and cheering us on. I still miss my dad and often think of the things I learned from him. He was a very smart man who often was like a bull in a china shop. I had the privilege of seeing him mellow out as he grew older and delighted in the love he had for his grandchildren. He was so proud of all of them and I know that he is still proud of what each one of them has accomplished.

Religious Liberty for All
I got to watch a panel discussion that Uncle Bill participated in this morning. Great job son! There were two speakers before the panel began. One was Congressman Curtis and the other was Mary Rice Haman. Both gave excellent talks about religious freedom. Something that she spoke about really hit home to me. She made the statement that "Law can never compel an Amen!" Both of them were well done and interesting but the panel discussion was my favorite. Can you guess why?

Katie's Adventure Continues!
Here are pictures Katie sent from England. She has now had afternoon tea in London. Visited Windsor Castle and the Old Manor. She's seen the remains of a Roman wall, had ice cream at the castle and saw St. Paul's Cathedral, the London Tower and the London Bridge! What a great experience! I am sure she is having a great time.

Cousin Time
Perry is staying at Uncle Bill and Aunt Cathy's for a few days until he can move back into his apartment. He was invited to join Uncle Bill and the boys on a ward Scout campout. Looks like fun to me!
