I had a wonderful experience while in California. Actually the whole time I spent with our California Duncan's was wonderful! As part of Aunt Angela's assignment as Stake Relief Society President she was asked to provide lunch for the missionaries assigned to serve in the California Fresno Mission. There were over 90 missionaries who came to their zone conference. As usual Aunt Angels outdid herself!
Something happened that was especially wonderful for me. A missionary who is serving from Gilbert was at the program. It was significant because the night before I left for California I had a dream. In it I ran out of Aunt Amy's house and called out to her friend Tracy Scown as she was getting in her car, "I'll get a picture of your daughter and send it to you!" On Thursday when the missionaries and their leaders came in for lunch I looked around to see if it was possible that she would be there. She is assigned as a Spanish speaking missionary and it was unlikely. I saw a sister missionary standing with other missionaries and I thought it might be her but I had only seen her a few times. After everyone was seated I walked over to the table where she was sitting and when I got close enough to read her badge it said Hermana Scown. I was so excited and I said, "Sister Scown?" She looked up and jumped up. I couldn't believe it--she remembered me. We hugged and talked a few minutes and of course, I got a picture and sent it to Aunt Amy to send it to Sadie's mom. I love tender mercies!
