For eight weeks Owen spent his summer in Navajo, New Mexico. This was part of a project he participated in to run Vacation Bible schools throughout the summer for the local Lutheran Church. Several times youth groups from churches around the area came and helped. He is now back in Orange County starting his junior year. He stopped by on his way back to school on Sunday night and told me he had a great experience and would definitely be willing to do it again--in spite of living in a house with no air conditioning and not a paved road in site. My grandkids are just AWESOME!
