It was great to be able to spend time with Ben and Becky and their family. All the kids are in school now so we only had two evenings with them. It is a busy household but a very nice place to hang out. We were able to go out for pizza with everyone before Owen, Jeremy and Miriam headed off to a 4-H meeting and Ben went to a church meeting. We also were able to admire Becky's beautiful garden. She definitely has a green thumb and Scott was very envious of all the things she is able to grow. On Tuesday morning we continued on our journey. The drive through Minnesota is always a treat because of all the lakes and beautiful farmland. Once we got to Minneapolis we headed down towards Chicago. Our plan was to say on the other side of Chicago Tuesday evening and then head to Kirkland Ohio. Our plans were a little messed up when we kept hitting one tow road after another and when we thought we were going east we were actually headed back towards Chicago. By then it was getting late and so we found a nice hotel in Indiana and got a good nights rest and a better sense of where we were. On Wednesday we pulled into Kirtland about 1 p.m. and spent several hours enjoying church history. I have seen many pictures of the Temple but had no idea it was as big as it was. Truly beautiful and the Community of Christ have kept the grounds and the temple in good condition.
