Cathy's Project

Along with everything else on her plate Cathy spent time refinishing a piece of furniture that I thought you'd like to see.

Update

I was going to wait until Sunday to show you some update pictures of Bill and Cathy's house.  I'm so excited for them and all that is happening that I decided not to wait.  The furnace arrived and so they are back on schedule and once the gas connection is relocated in the kitchen they will have the city home inspector check everything and the rest of the work will begin in earnest.  I wanted to included a picture of the backyard landscaping design for you to see but it wouldn't download onto the page because it was to big.  If anyone is interested in it I will email it to you.  It is really going to be beautiful once it is done.  Cathy has absolutely outdone herself in making this a dream house for their family.

Duncan's Adventure

Duncan had his first campout with this deacons group on Friday night.  They camped overnight at Picacho Peak and then hiked up the peak the next morning.  It sounded like Duncan had a good time.

Ouch!

Perry called yesterday and during our conversation he told me that Brigham had a run in with a nail gun.  It seems that Brigham lost the fight and ended up with a nail in his knuckle!

Utah Update!

It's not a big update because they are still waiting for the furnace to arrive but several things are getting done.  The electrical wiring is in.  The cabinets are on their way.  The flooring is ready to go and the fireplace is ready to be installed once the insulation and wallboards get done.  Cathy adjusted her kitchen design and included a picture of her fireplace design.  They have started getting the entryway ready for the updates as well.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It was a green day at the Whitney's.  Everyone pitched in to decorate.  Aunt Amy made beef stew, green and white Jello, rolls, and green soda to make a special meal to celebrate.  Even better she made a dinner for another family whose mother is recovering from surgery and they included decorations to make it special for their family as well.  I didn't remember to take a picture but all the little ones had their St. Patrick day shirts.  There was not going to be any pinching in their family!

Spring in Arizona

Although the weather is having a problem making up it's mind I thought I would share a few pictures of what Spring looks like in Arizona.  I have to admit that I never realized when I was young how beautiful the desert can be.  In driving around to find various pictures to take I have assigned myself another photo shoot soon.  This time it will be all the different kinds of Palm trees there are.

Spring Break

This week is spring break for the Whitney kids.  They had a list of projects and activities planned.  This was one of them.  They each painted and decorated a flower pot.  Ruth did a little helping with Graham's pot but they all turned out really nice.  Once that was done they headed to Lowe's and each picked out the kind of flowers they wanted in their pots.

My Lunch Bunch

The second Wednesday of the month I gather with these sweet ladies and we visit non-stop between bites.  I love living here now.

Update

I know we are all excited to see the latest update on the home addition but they are waiting for the new furnace to be installed before they can go into the next phase of the project.  In the meantime I thought I'd show you the kitchen cabinet design that Aunt Cathy designed.  They are going to love that big island!

Jeremy's Debut!

On Friday Jeremy was in the school play.  I got these pictures to share with you.  Aunt Becky wrote:

The lei is from the song "Surfing USA" by the beach boys.  His solo was the first song "Blue Suede Shoes".  It was a nice production and a fun way to end the week.  The one with him holding a stick with the girl is "I want to hold you hand" by Beatles, obviously social-distancing style (very funny).

I think Jeremy did a great job and I suspect there will be many more performances by this talented grandson of ours!

Angela's Project

Aunt Angela designed and made this beautiful bulletin board display for their ward Relief Society.  How nice this will be as their ward members return to in-church meetings.  Good job Angela!

Happy Birthday Bruce!

 17 Years Old

How quickly the years have passed.  I still remember that sweet and enthusiastic little boy who made friends wherever he went.  I hope this year will give you many opportunities to accomplish goals that you set for yourself.  You have been given much in your life Bruce and you now have the opportunity to give to others.
