The Giving Machine

A number of years ago the church started a way that we could help others in our community and throughout the world.  Giving Machines were installed in various locations and since the program started more machines have been placed in areas throughout the U.S.  Earlier in the season Graham, Eden and I went to the one located in Gilbert, AZ where we each chose something to donate to various local charities.  Graham picked  the option to buy a toy and a book for a child, Eden chose to donate a soccer ball and air pump.  I picked bedding to be donated to a local immigration service organization.  The machine we went to was only for local charities but other locations had options where you could buy, chickens, pigs, goats, and other items to be donated.  I loved being able to share with Eden and Graham the good feeling that comes when we give to others in need.  I recently read that as of December 21, 2022 people have donated over $15 million this year.  It is a definite tradition that I hope to keep participating in in the coming years.  

Miriam's Home!

 After an eventful trip home Miriam arrived in Fargo to enjoy some of Christmas day with her family.  I can't wait to hear more about her semester abroad in Spain.

Gingerbread Houses 2022-Utah

A Gingerbread House decorating party happened in Utah this weekend.  Here are some of their creations!

Last night we spent a fun evening as Jane, Duncan, Eden and Graham decorated gingerbread houses.  Jane's turned into a crime scene when Santa ended up with a candy kiss that crushed him.  Duncan was very intense as he worked on every detail with colored icicles on his house.  Eden definitely got the prize for the most creative and cute house.  She was having so much fun it was hard to convince her that she could stop.  Graham did a really good job on his house as well and loved everything he did.  It was delightful watching all of them working on their houses this year.  

Arizona Music

This weekend was full of the sounds of music.  Jane was in the Christmas Concert at Highland High this weekend and Duncan was in his first recital with his new violin teacher.  They both did a great job!  

Ellis's Gingerbread Boys

Each Sunday Uncle Bill and Aunt Cathy have invited all the cousins and any others who want to join their family for a Sunday dinner.  Yesterday Ellis brought these impressive Gingerbread Boys to share with them.  So much talent in our family!!
