Let the party begin!  Lexy was notified that she has been accepted into the Second Language Teaching Masters Program at BYU.  I know none of us are surprised.  But I am definitely impressed!  Good job Lexy!!  Your hard work and effort paid off.

Jane's Concert

The Spring Concert was held at Highland High tonight.  It was a great program and we were all so impressed with the quality of the performance.  Heidi and Darren came from Casa Grande and enjoyed the concert with us and even brought Jane a special treat.

Uncle Ben was in Bangkok, Thailand on university business.  He sent me some of the pictures from his trip.  Uncle Andy is going to be pretty jealous of some of the food he had while there!

Galentine Party

I wasn't familiar with the "Galentine Party" until Ava hosted one with her friends this weekend.  I loved what they did.  They made hearts, put notes on them, made some goodies, and then went around and did heart attacks and delivered them to people in their neighborhoods.  Once they finished that they came back and made individual heart shaped pizzas and had a party with all the cuteness that Valentines Day brings.  I love this!  Thank you Ava for having such a thoughtful party to recognize others and your friends.

Valentine Boxes

 Graham and Eden had to bring their decorated Valentine Boxes to school today.  Eden made her box all by herself and Graham had the idea for his and then Aunt Amy helped him make it.

While visiting the family that I told you about earlier, the boys were telling Caleb all about Mine Craft.  Little did they know they had an instant connection when Caleb brought out his laptop and shared his knowledge of Mine Craft with them.

On Saturday Ava and some of her friends had a "Galentine Party" at her house.  And since it was an all girl activity Uncle Andy and Caleb weren't invited, so they had a party of their own at a Yemini restaurant.

California Duncans

I was able to talk with Aunt Angela and Ava last night and I loved an activity that Ava was doing with the Young Women in her ward.  Each girl was asked to bring a favorite family recipe to share with each other and tell about how it came to be.  Ava made the bread stick recipe that I had made for years.  It originally came from Judy Claybaugh when she brought our family dinner one time.  I am so spoiled by how good it is that I honestly don't bother to eat breadsticks when I go to Olive Garden because they aren't near as good as our recipe.  Besides sharing the breadsticks and the recipe Ava shared how this became a family favorite.  

Ava has started Winter Guard again and for the next few months will be performing with her team throughout the area.  This will be her last season since she graduates this year.  I'm sure she wows them.  Uncle Andy said she is definitely the best on the team!  And you know Uncle Andy always tells the truth!

I don't know if I mentioned this before but an Afghanistan refugee family moved into the stake boundarie.  Another Relief Society president from their previous stake asked if their stake members would be willing to help the family get settled into their home.  Since before Christmas Aunt Angela has been working with the family and they have grown very fond of the Duncan family and the Duncan family has grown very fond of them.  On a recent visit the girls in the family decorated Ava's hands with a removable tattoo.

I had two wonderful days of celebrations!  Thanks for all the birthday wishes and cards.  Last night I enjoyed a dinner at the Whitney's to culminate a wonder birthday.  

Science Fair Project
