California Visit

These are late but I got pictures today from Aunt Angela of my visit there.  I had such a great time visiting and we enjoyed a day at the beach by Monterey and a drive around the Pebble Beach golf course where we saw some amazing houses, golfers and lots of deer!

Dose 1!

I was able to get my first Covid immunization yesterday.  I learned when you want to do this you have to be extremely diligent until you find a place available for the shot.  I am happy to say that the only problem I had as a result of the vaccination was a tender arm later in the day.  After I got the shot they had me wait fifteen minutes before I left.  As I sat there a memory of my mom's came into my mind.  When she was little she went to live with her Aunt Grace and Uncle Bill.  She stayed the week with them and went to a Catholic school.  Shortly after moving there she had to have a shot that was being given at the school.  She was little and very afraid and worried about it.  Shortly after arriving at the school she was taken into the shot area with other kids.  She said the closer she got the more terrified she became.  When she reached the head of the line she was almost starting to cry when someone reached down and took her hand.  When she looked up her Aunt Grace stood beside her with a smile on her face.  She got the shot and didn't cry at all.  I loved that story so much.  I wish all of you could have known Aunt Grace.  She was such a loving and kind woman and my mother adored her.  Actually I did too!

My 2nd dose is scheduled for March 25.  I feel I need to give all of you a heads up.  Two weeks after that shot is given I am having a mask burning party.  I realize that I may be arrested for blatant disregard for the Covid rules.  I'm counting on all of you helping Aunt Amy get the bail money if I end up in the slammer!

Happy Birthday Eden!

 7 Years Old

Eden is such a kind and sweet girl.  She is loved by everyone who knows her.  She is exceptionally bright, very patient, and is aware of things going on around her.  She extends herself to others and quietly serves whenever she sees a need.  I expect to see her continue to grow into a beautiful young woman who will touch the lives of others in positive ways.

Fancy!

Yesterday Eden had her birthday party with friends from school and church.  It was a Fancy Nancy Tea Party and it really turned out nice.  Ruth and her friend Abby played hostesses and everyone had such a great time.  Doesn't Eden make a great Fancy Nancy?

Happy Anniversary!

 Bill & Cathy

26 Years

“Marriage, in its truest sense, is a partnership of equals, with neither exercising dominion over the other, but, rather, with each encouraging and assisting the other in whatever responsibilities and aspirations he or she might have.”

Family!

I have loved living in Arizona again and one of the special blessings is having our family grow as we become reacquainted with my niece and nephew and their families.  On Sunday Aunt Amy invited her cousin Heidi and family over for dinner and to celebrate my birthday with the BEST coconut cream cake that Aunt Amy made from scratch!  The minute London (Heidi's youngest daughter) walked through the door Graham and Eden and Duncan bonded immediately with her beautiful smile and warm countenance.  She, like Katie and Perry have adoring fans and I so appreciate how sweet she was to them.

Happy Birthday Cathy!

What an amazing year this is starting out to be.  You have accomplished so much as you are designing a beautiful addition on your house.  I am always so impressed with your enthusiasm and willingness to jump in and get things done.  You are such a good and caring mom, a kind wife, but most important an amazing woman who has so much to be proud of.

Utah Update

The new family room and basement additional are moving along really fast!   The first picture is the right wall as you walk outside of the existing house.  The fireplace will go in the middle.  The second picture is their back wall.  So much wonderful light.  There will be French doors on the left side going onto the patio.  The third  picture is the left side of the room.  The two bottom pictures are the before and after of their basement kitchen.  The new kitchen will be bigger than the old one was.

Lego Project

I know the North Dakota Duncan's will relate to the dilemma of what to do with humungous amounts of Legos and while visiting in California this week I was really impressed with Aunt Angela's idea to organize the chaos!

These are regular Legos organized by colors.  They are containers from Ikea that fit under a bed.  Then Aunt Angela put shoe box size containers inside of them to house the various colors.  My camera ran out of batteries but she also had shoe box containers with lids on them and various sets were put in those to go into the closet. The direction book and Legos for those projects are kept in there.

These three boxes contain all of their Bionicle pieces.
Impressive Aunt Angela!

Heard Museum #2

I wanted to add some additional pictures from my visit to the Heard Museum.
