The Easter Pageant

The Mesa Easter Pageant is a musical production presented in nine shows during the two weeks preceding Easter on the north lawn of the Mesa Arizona Temple. This year’s cast numbers 470, with hundreds more volunteers working behind the scenes. It is one of the three pageants sponsored by the Church after it was authorized to continue in 2018. Accompanying that announcement was a statement that said “the goal of every activity in the Church should be to increase faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and to share His gospel message throughout the world.”

Jane and some of her friends were able to attend the Easter Pageant this year.  She said it was great and they were able to meet many of the cast afterwards.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Dream Come True

I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing but at a recent mutual activity Duncan was able to make a knife.  I asked Aunt Amy if they included a class on knife safety.  I haven't seen the finished product but I'm sure I am going to hear all about it when I pick him up from school today.

St. Patrick's Day in Arizona

I had a great time preparing the St. Patrick's Day meal for my friend Robyn and the Whitney family.  Thanks to Pinterest I always have good ideas.  They don't always look at good as the Pinterest ones but I was happy.  I love Corned Beef and cabbage!  And someone to share it with!

These cupcakes were suppose to look
like a rainbow coming out of the
clouds (the marshmallows) but didn't
quite work!

California Duncans

Uncle Andy sent these pictures.  Ava and Caleb got to attend a special youth fireside with Elder Bednar this weekend.  On Sunday they enjoyed their St. Patrick's day with dinner together.  Uncle Andy said he made a special candy called Irish Potatoes.  They were filled with cream cheese and coconut.  (I definitely want that recipe!).

Weekend Guest!

I had a special visitor for the weekend.  This is Cosmo (yes the BYU one!) who stayed with me while the Whitney's were in northern Arizona with friends.  They were the dogsitters but they didn't invite him to come with them so he came and kept me company.

Gratitude!

Hooray for Miriam!

I got a text from Miriam this morning.  She shared with me that she is going to attend graduate school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the University of Pittsburgh (go Panthers!).  She will be studying in the Chemistry graduate program this Fall.   You would have to look hard to find a harder working student and Pitt is going to be lucky to have someone of her calibre at their university.  Way to go Miriam!

This is a picture of the Pitt campus.  The tall building on the left is
 the main Chemistry building.

Pre-med Training

Graham is starting early in his future vocation.  Who knows--some day he may decide to become a doctor!  Unless a Super Hero position opens and then that could change!

The Harvest

This weekend the California Duncan's did some yardwork and Caleb became the orange gatherer!  I'm sorry I'm not there to enjoy the homegrown oranges.

Bedroom Makeover

It was so much fun doing a makeover of Graham and Eden's bedroom this week.  I love that Aunt Amy included me in the preparation.  It turned out really nice and Eden and Graham were happily surprised by the changes when they got home from school!

Caleb's Concert

Caleb participated his his school's orchestra this week.

Field Trip

The fourth grade went on a field trip to Phoenix to a natural history museum.  Eden said it was great and she liked all the exhibits because you could touch things and see how different things worked.   She was excited because her mom also went on the trip with them.

Way to go Will!

This year Will participated in the Future Farmer's of America program at the high school.  He recived a certifcate of completion for this year.
