For the past two summers Owen has committed to work on the Navajo Indian Reservation with the Lutheran Church. He has done many different things and I'm sure that those that were able to be around him were touched by his kind heart and generous spirit. I am sure that Owen grew to love the gentle Navajo people. While at BYU I had two Navajo Indian girls that roomed in the same apartment as I was in. They were so nice and loved to tease us with stories about living on the reservation. I was never sure which stories were true and which were put forth to shock us! The one thing I did know was they made the BEST Indian fried bread!
