Object Lesson

Ruth is taking a psychology class this semester.  In class the teacher talked to them about a study that showed that animals helped in working with patients with trauma.  They found that the patient would relax and be able to open up.  He then had the students sit in a circle and brought in two kittens.  They were to hold the kittens for a few minutes and answer some questions as they passed the kittens around.  Ruth told her mom that it was amazing to hear the students open up and talk about things that were weighing heavy on them.  She said many tears were shed as the students shared some of the struggles that they were experiencing.  When the kitten got to Ruth he laid his head down and fell asleep in her lap.  I loved this!
