Preserving History

We had a BBQ on Saturday with the family who is restoring this house built in 1780.

The original house in the front came first, then the barn, and more recently the house in between.

This is the original fireplace in the house with all the tools                                                every woman would  love in her kitchen!

The homeowners just finished shoring up the barn because it was starting to sink.  On Saturday the project was to clean all of the trash that was underneath the barn.  There was even a piano under there.

The outhouse which was located in the barn
had some practical insulation.

On the left covered up are two holes for the outhouse users
and on the right was a child's seat.  Thoughtful!
