Owen along with 47 other musicians from Concordia University Irvine were invited to participate in the 75th Anniversary of D Day in Normandy. Tomorrow and Thursday (June 4-5, 2019) he and the Concordia Wind Orchestra will be lead by a 94 year old veteran who stormed Omaha Beach 75 years ago. Following their performance they will then perform at a solemn wreath laying ceremony at the Normandy American Cemetery where 9,388 American soldiers are buried. On Friday they will travel to the Netherlands for a series of 3 concerts related to D-day. If you have had the opportunity to hear Owen play you know why he was one of those students chosen to participate in such a special activity. Once he returns to the United States I hope that we will have pictures from his trip!
